Movie Review: 16 Blocks

Movie Review: 16 Blocks

1 is “Not Good!” and 10 is “Had It All”

Overall Rating: 7

Ratings for:
Dialogue: 6 Tended to drag a bit as the writer searched for ways of making the movie socially significant
Acting: 7 Mos Def really got on my nerves, as his character was supposed to. Brucie baby was his normal stoic asshole we all love so much.
Directing: 4 Too much emphasis on Brucie’s character.
Scariness: 7 It did leave you with some heart in throat situations!
Music: 5 Nothing special

Ratio of bald men to men with hair: 1 to 10
Percentage Chic Flick: 2
Percentage Macho Flick: 7
Fairness in how men were portrayed: 7

Special Effects: 5 (Average, there were none that I saw)
How true to the book was it? Have not read the book, if there was one
Reality Ratio: 5 I know there are bad cops, but to this extent, so high up? Doubtful, I hope
Enthrallment: 7 Editing and directing could have been much better
Worth the price of admission? Rent the DVD. I love NetFlix!

Recommendation: Don’t take your date unless she is a died in the wool Bruce Willis fan
