Paula’s shocked face turned ashen when she realized that her beloved husband had been watching, and listening, to her conversation with Pastor Syh. The conversation had been intimate, and very personal. It had not been meant to be heard by others, not even her husband. Tears sprang to her eyes, and her bowels felt as if they might cut loose without warning. It was not as though he had been snooping, she was in the family room of their own home, after all.

Horrified at what might soon change in their marriage, based on his hearing ONLY the previous conversation, she blurted out “How long have you . . . . . . . How much did you . . . . . hear Honey?” Her tone became almost accusatory. “I thought you were going golfing today . . . .. all day!” In her near panic, Paula could not decide whether to try to fake her way out of this, or to just pretend to ignore him.

Then she recalled Pastor Syh’s last instruction to her, “You will tell your husband ALL! Today! This very day.” Remembering his soft words, his gentle , almost whispered, command, she knew that she had no choice but to come clean and explain her new life to her husband, the life she had chosen to lead since she had taken her mission trip to Jamaica.

No, she could no longer put that very necessary, one could even say critical, religious duty off. She was already ashamed that she had kept her husband in the dark for this long. A lie was a lie, even if it was a lie of omission, a lie promulgated not telling her trusting and trusted husband the full and complete truth.

Finally taking the responsibility for her own previous decisions, she let the arm she had been holding behind her back drop to her side. Her hand held the implement she had just been exercising with. “Getting into shape,” Pastor Syh called it.

“Honey, I have to tell you something,” her scared little girl voice said, her eyes searching his in a frantic panic.

Edwards eyes gawked at the huge implement, the object that he had watched her riding as she discussed intimate things with the man on the other end of the computer cam conversation. Her husband’s lips were trembling when he finally spoke to her, his voice quaking in both pain and fear, his eyes riveted on the implement in her hand. “Tell me what, Paula?”

Paula’s head turned down, her face full of embarrassment and shame. She was so new to the Sybianite Rites that the Sybianite beliefs had not yet entrenched themselves into her subconsciousness.

She felt the instant sting of shame regarding sex, so firmly ingrained into her psyche from years, decades, of puritanical religious dogma. Struggling with every shamed fiber of her being, she raised her head, latched her eyes directly on her beloved husbands, and said “Honey, we have a lot to talk about. Please sit down, and I will tell you all about my new life.”

Edward heard the woman he treasured more than his own life say the words, “Her new life.” His heart lurched and his own bowels began to run liquid. His heart screamed in agony. ‘Is she going to say goodbye to me, is she leaving me?’ His eyes filled with tears, his heart surging in pain. His mouth was dry.

Edward found himself suddenly sitting on the edge of their couch, staring open mouthed at the woman he had thought he knew, thought he understood, and that he loved more than anything else in the world.

His wife knelt in front of him. Without trying to hide what she was doing, she parted the loose fitting robe she was wearing exposing her naked vaginal opening, and placed the large dark implement she had been holding in her hand below her body. With only a slight struggle, she captured it inside her womanhood, sinking slowly down onto its length until her tight little bottom was flat on the floor between her feet. She looked straight into her husband’s eyes unapologetically.

“When I speak of my new faith, I must have this within me, honey. It keeps me centered, focused, and creative.”

Paula began to tell her husband of her new found Sybianite faith.
